Kanuka essentiële olie is pijnstillend, anti-allergisch, anti-reumatisch, herstellend en ontstekingsremmend. De olie heeft een brede anti-bacteriële werking. De olie wordt in de aromatherapie o.a. gebruikt bij; reumatische klachten, zwak bindweefsel, spataderen, acne, slecht helende huid, bronchitis, geestelijke vermoeidheid, angst, lethargie.
